Forrestel Farm Riding & Sports Camp
Forrestel’s horseback riding program is a very unique one, which offers 2 programs; Horsemanship 1 and Horsemanship 2.
Our international and local riding counselors are all qualified, experienced and passionate about teaching our campers to ride. The campers are taught on one of Forrestel’s family owned, well schooled horses, who are carefully matched to the child with age, size, ability and experience taken into consideration. Campers also have the option of bringing their own horse/pony with them to camp.
Riding instruction at Forrestel includes structured ring work and cross country riding. Our campers can choose to focus on different areas of their riding which can include; hunt seat equitiation, dressage, eventing, cross country and show jumping.
We also have our specialty horsey activities, which are all firm favorites. They include pony club games, trail riding, trips to the horse pond and overnight, and decorate a horse.
Within our Riding Program we also offer a stable management option, which includes all aspects of horse care from mucking out, trailer safety, preparing for shows, braiding and veterinary care.
At Forrestel Farm, the quality of instruction we offer is of an exceptionally high standard. All riding counselors that work at Forrestel must have a wide range of experience within the sport of equestrianism as well as prior teaching experience and qualifications before they are hired as a counselor here at Forrestel.
Our riding counselors here at Forrestel have undertaken British Horse Society (BHS) qualifications as well as Pony Club qualifications which allows a high standard of knowledge to be passed onto our campers. Not only that, but many of our counselors have competed at a high level of show jumping, eventing, and dressage often at national level in the UK which makes our counselors much more specialist and experienced when it comes to helping the campers with their riding.
At Forrestel we ensure that our counselors are matched to the appropriate level of instruction, dependent upon their own personal enjoyment and preference whether it is teaching a child who has never ridden or coaching a camper around a 3’3ft show jumping track. We feel that it is vital that our counselors not only enjoy their work but also feel comfortable while teaching the campers as this ensures that the campers get the most from their Forrestel experience.
